Welcome to Grayton Beach. This community is the perfect place to leave your cares behind and our Grayton Beach vacation rentals provide just that. It’s the quintessential Florida beach town. Quaint shops, galleries and restaurants line oyster-shell streets, and Spanish moss hangs from the canopy of oak trees. A vast, sugar-white beach stretches in either direction for as far as the eye can see. Like a jewel, it’s a small, beautiful and original.

Settled in the late 19th century, little has changed for this historic, one-of-a-kind seaside village. Established in 1885, Grayton Beach would eventually become the first hamlet on the Scenic Highway 30A corridor. Today it’s the very essence of what a beach town should be. The vibe is easy-going, and you get the unmistakable sense that it’s been this way from the very beginning.

When you stay in any of our Graytaon Beach rentals you’ll be near all the best attractions, restaurants, and beaches. Grayton Beach is the perfect place to leave your cares behind…. Stroll down historic Defuniak Street to Pandora’s for great seafood, or try Shorty’s spectacular sushi bar. Don’t be surprised to see a dog lying in the shade on the boardwalk or a group of friends chatting on the bench.

Next door is Gypsea, a funky little boutique where you’ll find the perfect summer dress and beach smock. Across the street is the iconic Red Bar, a must-see for anyone visiting the 30A area. Drop in for a breakfast omelet in the morning or a plate of grouper in the evening. The live music is legendary: You might hear Sara Evans singing Patsy Cline, or Walton County’s own Dread Clampitt playing one original hit after another.

Access to the pristine white sand is easy from our Grayton Beach rentals, with both Garfield and Defuniak Streets leading the way to the turquoise waters of the Gulf. Before hitting the beach, stop by the Grayton General Store for cooler drinks and sandwiches. Afterward, head down to “The Shops of Grayton,” just north of 30A on County Road 283. This snazzy little area is filled with fabulous establishments like Grayton Beach Fitness and the Hurricane Oyster Bar & Grill.

The town character is coastal and oh-so laid back. Stop in at one of your favorite cafés, such as the Summer Kitchen or the Wild Olive on Barrett Square. Linger on a bench in the shade of the trees after a morning on the beach. The Pensione Inn and the Cowgirl Kitchen are just down the street from the Town Hall. For something different, stroll down Main Street to La Crema for fondue, Spanish strawberries or chocolate soup.

Top off your stay at the Grayton State Park to see Mother Nature’s dune sculpture on brilliant display just down the road. Shore birds, pelicans and crabs abound in this protected habitat, along with towering pines and sprawling oak. A mile further down 30A is all the excitement of Seaside and WaterColor, all of which can be accessed by bicycle on the Timpoochee Trail. Book a kayak and nature tour with Walco Eco Tours on Western Lake, and get an insider’s view of what makes these rare coastal dune lakes so special.

With the Gulf of Mexico to the south, Western Lake to the east and Alligator Lake to the west, the town of Grayton is nearly surrounded by water. And perhaps this is what has kept this quaint village from becoming just another resort town. It’s small. It’s an original. It’s fabulous. Come and enjoy it all in our Grayton Beach vacation rentals. It’s where every beach-lover wants to be.
