The live music is legendary: You might hear Sara Evans singing Patsy Cline, or Walton County’s own Dread Clampitt playing one original hit after another.
Access to the pristine white sand is easy from our Grayton Beach rentals, with both Garfield and Defuniak Streets leading the way to the turquoise waters of the Gulf. Before hitting the beach, stop by the Grayton General Store for cooler drinks and sandwiches. Afterward, head down to “The Shops of Grayton,” just north of 30A on County Road 283. This snazzy little area is filled with fabulous establishments like Grayton Beach Fitness and the Hurricane Oyster Bar & Grill.
The town character is coastal and oh-so laid back. Stop in at one of your favorite cafés, such as the Summer Kitchen or the Wild Olive on Barrett Square. Linger on a bench in the shade of the trees after a morning on the beach. The Pensione Inn and the Cowgirl Kitchen are just down the street from the Town Hall. For something different, stroll down Main Street to La Crema for fondue, Spanish strawberries or chocolate soup.
Top off your stay at the Grayton State Park to see Mother Nature’s dune sculpture on brilliant display just down the road. Shore birds, pelicans and crabs abound in this protected habitat, along with towering pines and sprawling oak. A mile further down 30A is all the excitement of Seaside and WaterColor, all of which can be accessed by bicycle on the Timpoochee Trail.
