Top 30A Family Activities for 2019
| Wednesday, May 8, 2019

Planning a 30A vacation with the entire family? It’s no secret that 30A is home to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, and there are countless ways to relax and reconnect with your family. Our 30A luxury vacation rentals provide the perfect destination for a fun and memorable family getaway. Whether your family prefers to be active, learn about history, be creative, or simply unwind, the emerald coast offers something for everyone!

To help, we’ve compiled a list of our favorite 30A family activities to get you started.

1. Enjoy 30A Beaches

Family on Beach

No real explanation is needed with this one. Spend a day relaxing on the sugar-white sand, collect seashells, build a sandcastle (lessons available by local sculptors), have a picnic or swim in the crystal clear, emerald water. No matter your itinerary, or lack thereof, a beach day on 30A is at the top of our list!

2. Explore the Emerald Water

Did you know that 30A is home to the first permanent Underwater Museum of Art in the United States? Less than a mile from the Grayton Beach State Park shoreline, and approximately 60 yards in depth, you’ll find sculptures created by artists from around the world. Whether you’re a family of certified divers or adventurous beginners, there’s an abundance of watersports available along 30A for the entire family to enjoy.

3. Have a Beach Bonfire

After the sun sets, gather together around a beach bonfire – don’t forget the s’mores. It’s the perfect way to end a fun-filled day on the water. Plus, it offers a front row seat to watch the sunset together. From a simple gathering to a catered beach dinner and music, a bonfire on the beach will create memories to last a lifetime.

4. Bike the Timpoochee Trail

If your family enjoys staying active, spend a day biking along the Timpoochee Trail. This 18.6-mile paved pathway winds past the dune lakes, state parks and beach neighborhoods along 30A, offering indescribable picturesque views. We recommend following this mile-by-mile guide, to make the most of your trail ride.

5. Listen to Live Music

After a fun day at the beach, enjoy a night of live music, great food, and drinks. The Hub is your one-stop shop for family fun on 30A. This festive gathering place features world-class music and weekly events, including movies under the stars. While the Hub isn’t the only place to enjoy a live performance, it’s certainly a favorite. We also recommend Shunk Gulley and The Bay offering beach bonfires and live music every Wednesday night, year-round.

6. Go to Rock Paper Scissors in Grayton Beach

Perfect for a rainy day, or a break from the beach. Take the kids to Rock Paper Scissors, a creation studio designed with kids in mind. Best of all, no reservation required. Sign-up to attend a class or swing by for a “make and take” project to complete at your home-away-from-home. While Rock Paper Scissors does not offer childcare, they do encourage you to join in on the fun or relax on the patio next door at the Hurricane Oyster Bar
