Does the weather vary greatly by area on 30A?

No, it doesn’t! Since 30A is a relatively small stretch of Florida coastline, the weather doesn’t vary significantly by community. If it’s raining hard in Rosemary Beach, it will most likely be raining in Dune Allen Beach, too! 30A is only about 26 miles long, so the weather is consistent throughout the route. You may find pop-up showers in one area and not another, but they don’t tend to last very long.

Does it rain often on 30A?

Yes, it does rain often on 30A, but that’s no reason to worry. Most of the time, summer showers are brief and provide a much-needed break from the humidity. There’s no reason to change your plans unless a major weather event like a hurricane is predicted.

If you open up your weather app and see a week’s worth of rainfall, we know that looks scary, but if showers do happen, they’re usually gone as quickly as they arrive! Plus, if the rain does stick around for a little bit, there are still plenty of things to do on 30A on a rainy day.

When is the best time to visit 30A?

There’s no bad time to visit 30A! In the spring, the weather is warm, but not too hot. Enjoy time outside at local state parks, lying on the beaches without crowds, and some general peace and quiet! Summer, of course, brings the buzz of peak season, with sunshiny days, family fun, and plenty of time on the sand.

Fall on 30A is a favorite for many, with cooler temps, fewer people, and the chance to really slow down and enjoy the calm! The beach is gorgeous in autumn, and it’s a prime time to go fishing. Winter is also quite popular; there’s a large snowbird population on 30A. Slow down and go on peaceful shoreline strolls while benefitting from seasonal rates!

Is it too hot to visit Florida in the summertime?

No! While it can get muggy, it’s certainly not too hot to visit 30A in the summer. In fact, summertime is the most popular time to go on a 30A vacation! Summer showers let the air cool down a bit, and the ocean breeze is always refreshing.

What are the year-round average temperatures for 30A?

See the chart above for average temperatures year-round on 30A. As you can see, the weather stays pretty mild all year, with annual highs in the 90s and lows in the 40s.

Of course, as with any data set, there are sometimes random outliers. Last January, 30A experienced snow in a surprise winter storm! Don’t worry, though, if you’re fleeing to Florida to escape the cold weather, we can’t emphasize enough just how rare an occurrence this is. Before 2025, the last time 30A saw a blanket of snow was 32 years ago, and the previous snowfall before that was in 1954, 71 years prior!

What should we pack for a 30A vacation?

When packing for a 30A vacation, what you’ll bring will, of course, depend on what time of year you’re visiting. If you’re here in the summertime, the most important things to remember are your beach supplies! You don’t want to be caught without a swimsuit and sunscreen.

Pack layers for a winter trip. As you can see in our chart above, 30A normally doesn’t get too cold, but with temperatures dipping into the 40s, you’ll certainly need a jacket.

Is Florida a good place for snowbirds?

Yes! Many snowbirds love flocking to Florida in the winter for its warm weather. Folks enjoy spending their winters on 30A because they can join an active community. There are so many events happening throughout the winter on 30A; snowbirds will always find something exciting to do!

Weekly occurrences include the Seaside Farmers Market, free beach volleyball in Seaside, and live music from the Red Bar Jazz Band (that happens every night!). Other annual festivals include the 30A Songwriters Festival in January and holiday happenings like the Rosemary Beach Christmas Tree Lighting in late November.
