Things To Do

If a rainstorm rolls into town during your 30A vacation, do not despair! There are plenty of fun activities to keep your group entertained as you wait out a rainstorm. From grabbing a bite to eat at a local eatery to strolling through shops or showcasing your creative skills in an art studio, we have compiled a list of our favorite activities for a rainy 30A day!

Grab a Bite to Eat at a 30A Restaurant

When rain begins to fall, head into a local restaurant to grab a bite to eat! Dig into delicious seafood, a slice of pizza, BBQ, and more from our favorite local eateries. For mouthwatering meals with a waterfront view, we recommend Bud and Alley’s. Grab a plate of tacos and one of their specialty drinks like a Blood Orange Margarita or a Frozen Peach Bellini. Your tastebuds will thank you while you wait for the rain to pass!

Shop Until the Rain Stops

Fortunately, there are plenty of shops by 30A that you can visit while the rain blankets the area. Step into Modica Market, a gourmet specialty store in the heart of Seaside. Inside, you’ll find specialty products and groceries that will make your stay in a 30A vacation rental that much better! This quaint grocery store even made an appearance in The Truman Show.

The Tribe Kelley Surf Post in Grayton Beach is a brand owned and operated by Brittney and Brian Kelley. Stop in to shop a collection of clothing items for men, women, and children as well as home goods and surfing essentials!

Head to Destin to roam through Silver Sands Premium Outletshome to 110 national and name-brand stores. If you need more options, Pier Park is another destination for shopping in Panama City Beach – just 30 minutes down the road from 30A! Pier Park features more than 250 retail, restaurants, and entertainment choices, making it ideal for fun on a rainy day.

Treat Yourself to New Book

If the rain starts to creep in on your day, head into a local bookshop to find a new read for the beach! For casual rainy day browsing, we recommend The Hidden Lantern in Rosemary Beach and Sundog Books in Seaside, Fl. Both bookshops feature a wide array of genres including biographies, nonfiction, and bestselling fiction. Get started on new book while the skies clear!

Be Creative in a 30A Studio

If you’re looking to get more creative, put your hands to work in one of 30A’s unique local art shops. At the Shard Shop in Grayton Beach, visitors can make a personalized piece of art using glass. Rock Paper Scissors 30A is another destination for craft making for the whole family with a variety of art projects awaiting your creativity! Walk into the open studio and select a project that gets your creativity flowing.

Go Bowling

If the weather isn’t agreeing with a dinner al fresco, opt for a family night at the bowling alley! Hurricane Lanes and Rock’it Lanes are both family-friendly destinations for a bowling outing. Compete with family and friends to knock down the most pins. If you get hungry during your game, enjoy casual eats like nachos, burgers, and more.

Watch a Movie

Recline your seat and watch that movie that you’ve been dying to see at one of our nearby movie theatres. Another option for a rainy day is to make your way to the movie theater! Catch the newest release or a family-friendly flick at a nearby movie theater like the Grand Theatre 16 or AMC Classic Boulevard 10. Grab some candy and popcorn and relax with the whole family

Play a Board Game

And if all else fails, wait out the rain in the comfort of your 30A vacation rental! With stunning interiors, and plenty of space for relaxation, our gorgeous properties are the perfect place to play a card or board game and share a few snacks. After a game or two, the rain may have cleared, allowing you to continue with your day in the Sunshine State! Don’t wait, reserve your 30A vacation vacation home today!
